What is Distracted Driving?

Distracted driving is when someone does something that causes them to focus on something other than driving. This can be using texting, calling, watching videos, drinking, eating, etc.

Why do people do it?

Some people say they get bored when driving and so they like to text. Others are in a rush and feel like they have to eat/drink or do their make up while they drive. No matter the excuse, there is never a reason to drive while distracted. Sometimes it is hard for teens to avoid as they may be influenced by other passengers. Always remember if you want to do something that will distract from driving just pull over. Or just wait until you get to your destination. Another way is if you have passengers they could do it for you. Example text your mom for you, read the directions, etc.

Make the safe decision.
